Grain hopper trailer

« Back to Glossary Index

Design:
– Grain hopper trailers have a rolling tarp on top for easy loading and protection during transport.
– They feature two hoppers at the base for unloading, each serving a different half of the trailer.
– Unloading is controlled by a sliding plate at the base of the hopper, operated by a crank handle.

Usage:
– Grain hopper trailers are used with agricultural machinery like combine harvesters to transport harvested products.
– Harvested goods are transferred from grain carts to the trailers for long-distance transportation.
– The trailers then unload into low-profile grain augers for storage in grain bins or silos.
